Citarasa dan Tautan Budaya Sarawak–Brunei 2025 represents a tangible commitment towards strengthening bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and Sarawak in various areas including trade, tourism, socio-cultural exchange, and sustainable economic development. This was stated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, during the launch of The Citarasa dan Tautan Budaya Sarawak-Brunei 2025.
Speaking at the Launch, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy said the event is not just symbolic, but also strategic in building relationships across borders. The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam fully supports initiatives that strengthen regional cooperation. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, added that Sarawak is not only a neighbour, but also a partner in building an economic community, which is resilient and forward-looking. The collaboration also has the potential to be expanded to include new areas such as youth innovation, digital trade, creative industries and environmental protection. The ceremony took place at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, 2nd August morning.
Earlier, Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Seri Laila Jasa Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Second Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development and Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment, in his welcoming remarks lauded the initiative as a symbol of enduring cooperation and cultural kinship between the two regions. Held until 3rd August 2025, the public are welcome to visit the event from 9:00 in the morning to 10:00 at night.
